At West Michigan Premier FC, we believe in the power of soccer to shape lives beyond the game. Our vision is to build a club where development comes before dollars, character outweighs championships, and long-term impact takes priority over short-term success. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment where every player, regardless of background or ability, has the opportunity to grow on and off the field.
Through mentorship, dedication, and a love for the game, we aim to develop not just skilled athletes, but resilient individuals and compassionate leaders who will make a lasting difference in their communities. Soccer is more than a sport—it’s a vehicle for lifelong growth, and at West Michigan Premier FC, that journey is for everyone.
Founded in 1998 by Tom Pyne, West Michigan Premier FC began as a small, community-driven soccer club in Cedar Springs, Michigan, with a vision of providing local youth with a place to grow and develop through the game. What started as a grassroots effort quickly gained momentum, becoming a pillar of the community and a home for players of all backgrounds.
As a non-profit organization, West Michigan Premier FC is dedicated to making soccer accessible to all, regardless of financial status or background. Over the past five years, the club has experienced an incredible 205% growth, expanding its reach to serve all northern communities of Grand Rapids. Despite this rapid expansion, the club has remained steadfast in its founding values: development over dollars, character over championships, and long-term impact over short-term success.
Today, West Michigan Premier FC continues to uphold its commitment to accessibility, player development, and community impact, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow through the sport. Through unwavering dedication to its players and families, the club has become a respected presence in Michigan’s soccer landscape, proving that soccer is more than a game—it’s a lifelong journey of growth and opportunity.
